화염상 모반(포도주색 혈관성 모반/포도주색 반점), Nevus flammeus (Port-wine stains/Port-wine nevus)

화염상 모반(포도주색 혈관성 모반)은 피부 표면에 납작하게 퍼져나는 혈관성 모반의 일종이고 포도주색 혈관성 모반, 또는 모세 혈관종이라고도 한다.
포도주색 혈관성 모반은 모세혈관 발육 이상으로 생긴다.

화염상 모반은 눈꺼풀, 얼굴, 목, 몸통 등에 날 수 있고 때로는 입안 점막층에도 날 수 있다.
화염상 모반이 신생아 1,000명 중 3명에게 날 수 있다.
화염상 모반은 태어난 후 바로 나타날 수 있지만 출생 후 첫 몇 달 동안은 현저히 나타나지 않을 수 있다.
일반적으로 출생 후부터 점점 더 성장하면서 화염상 모반도 피부층의 표면 위로 더 뚜렷이 솟아오를 수 있고 더 선명해진다.
화염상 모반의 모양과 크기는 다양하다.
화염상 모반의 종류와 합병증에 따라 치료한다.
단순한 화염상 모반은 관찰적 치료만 하기도 한다.
필요에 따라 화염상 모반은 냉동요법, 전기 소작요법, 펄스드 다이 레이저 치료법, 절제수술, 또는 화장 등으로 치료한다.
펄스드 다이 레이저 치료법은 생후 1개월부터 시작할 수 있고 4~6주 간격을 두고 10번 정도 치료 받으면 거의 완치될 수 있다(출처-Pediatric News, July 2007)

연어색 반점(황새에 물린 반점/천사 키스 반점) Salmon patches(Stork bites/Angel kisses)

연어색 반점(사진 482 참조)은 모세 혈관종으로 생긴 반점이다.
연어색 반점은 거의 50%의 소아청소년들에게서 발견될 수 있다.
뒷목, 콧등, 눈꺼풀, 얼굴 등에 가장 많이 생긴다.
필요에 따라 레이저 광선으로 치료할 수 있다.
연어색 반점을 화염상 모반이라고 하지 않는다.

Nevus flammeus (Port-wine stains/Port-wine nevus)

• Flammable nevus (wine-colored nevus) is a type of vascular nevus that spreads flat on the surface of the skin and is also called wine-colored nevus angioma or capillary hemangioma.

• Wine-colored vascular nevus is caused by capillary dysplasia.

• Flame nevus can appear on the eyelids, face, neck, trunk, and sometimes even the mucous membranes of the mouth. • Flame birthmarks can occur in 3 out of every 1,000 newborns.

• Flame nevus may appear immediately after birth, but may not be noticeable during the first few months after birth.

• As they grow older, usually after birth, the flammable nevus may also rise more distinctly above the surface of the skin layer and become more pronounced.

• Flame birthmarks vary in shape and size.

• Treatment depends on the type of nevus inflamed and its complications

. • Simple flammable nevus may require only observational treatment.

• As needed, flammable nevus can be treated with cryotherapy, electrocautery, pulsed die laser therapy, excision surgery, or makeup. • Pulsed die laser therapy can be started from 1 month of age and can be almost completely cured with 10 treatments 4-6 weeks apart (source- Pediatric News, July 2007)

Salmon patches(Stork bites/Angel kisses)

• Salmon spots (see photo 482) are spots caused by capillary hemangioma.

• Salmon spots can be found in nearly 50% of children and adolescents.

• It occurs most often on the back of the neck, bridge of the nose, eyelids, and face.

• It can be treated with laser beams as needed.

• Salmon spots are not called flammable birthmarks.
